The TexasMRC Proposal Process
LOI. RFP. Review. Award.
On December 9, 2013 The Texas Medical Research Collaborative (TexasMRC) will issue a request for Letters of Intent (LOI) from investigators planning to submit a proposal requesting funding for the 2014 TexasMRC grant cycle. The proposed research should address one or more of the critical medical research priorities of the TexasMRC and should be suitable for sustained external funding (federal, state, private, etc.). All funding is restricted to members of a TexasMRC academic institution or organization. LOI requirements including submission deadline can be found on the LOI form.
On February 21, 2014 a Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued by invitation only to investigators that submitted a LOI to be reviewed by the TexasMRC Executive Committee. Proposals submitted without a LOI and the subsequent invitation to submit a RFP will not be reviewed. RFP requirements including format and submission deadline can be found on the Grant Application Form.
Submitted proposals will be evaluated using a 100-point system. Scoring will apply to the following proposal attributes: • Scientific/Scholarly Merit • Qualifications of the Investigators • Potential for External Funding
The total amount of funds available for this program is expected to be at least $750,000. The funding period is one year. The earliest start date on funded proposals is May 1, 2014.
